Colloidal Ellipsoids in 3D

A colloidal suspension is any system in which some kind of particles move around in something continuous. The particles typically have sizes from nanometers up to micrometers. Microparticles are large enough to watch them under microscopes, and slow enough to watch them undergo phase transitions. This makes them popular model systems for many-particle physics. "Many" is true: a typical sample contains up to 109 of them.

We have made our ellipsoids quite monodisperse and gave them core-shell fluorescence:
